Joey is working again....so, might as well put the first part of July up here!
Here is a video of one of the crazy games that Joey and the kids invented. It's kinda long, but I think you should have to hear "Dada losh" (watch) over and over again since that's what I hear all day (well, Mama losh). And I always do because one day he won't want me to losh him anymore! Also, watching Koa jump-and get off the ground pretty good-and then see Malia awkwardly try to lay down on the hard floor is funny to me!
Independence Day Celebration
Gotta go to the Brandon parade...I think we have only missed one year since we have been here!
Koa crawled right over Malia in record speed to get into his seat when he saw...
Spider Man coming towards him! He never said a word, but stayed right there until all threat was gone!
Happy girl on our way to the tailgate in Costco parking lot with the Taylors!
We got everything all set up just in time to hunker down for a nice little thunderstorm and torrential downpour. Once that was over, it really was a nice evening!
We ate some fried chicken and made homemade ice cream in zip lock bags while we waited on the fireworks.
Great place to view the fireworks! The kids loved them.
Koa loves coloring pictures and then cutting them up into a bazillion tiny pieces. In fact, our dining room pretty much always has a blizzard look to it, thanks to Koa's "couponing." I asked him if that's what I do when I "coupon." Apparently, he thinks I just cut random paper for the fun of it!
We took the kids to a "water park" downtown. They seemed to really like this one!
Got her some water shoes because she rubs her big toes raw when she crawls on the concrete. She won't leave them on. Time to learn to walk, kiddo!
Dr. Malia is here to give check-ups! She did that all by herself.
Super Baby!
More bathtub mohawks. Koa asks for them every time now!
Watching The Little Mermaid for the first time.
Peter Puff, his dragon is under his arm as well.
I caught her playing with her purse and thought it was so cute how she even has the strap over her arm!
Reading books...
Getting a good look at that page!
I love how she will play and use her imagination all by herself at times (as you can see by the trail of toys)!
So, back when I used to watch the news in the morning, they featured this neat Neapolitan Pizza place located downtown. They showed the awesome brick fireplace and told how they brought the bricks from some old building in Chicago and made built in cubbies for candles. I was so excited when I saw a Living Social deal for that place and jumped on it. It was $39 for two glasses of wine, an appetizer, two salads/soups, and two entrees (a $78 value). Well, it was going to expire last Tuesday. I realized this last Sunday. They are closed on Mondays. I scheduled a babysitter for Tuesday and we went. And THAT'S how we had a Tuesday night date night! It was FABULOUS!
Delicious garlic bread
yummy salads
ravioli
sausage pizza (we split the entrees...and they were both sooo good)
Next time we go, I want to go after sunset so we can get the full effect of the candle lit wall!
Loved the tile work...oh and we did have dessert. The tiramisu was amazing! :)
On our way home! Living Social Deal Success
Went to check on Koa before I went to bed a couple nights ago and he was sleeping like this! Ha!
Ladies and Gentlemen--Koa's favorite thing right now!
Koa jumping rope
Cooling off at Busch Gardens
Besides Malia's first birthday, we were busy with a trip to Ft. Lauderdale for a crossfit competition. This was a such a fun trip/competition because Joey and his dad both competed!
Malia's first purse (and the first one I have made).
It was fun picking out the material...now if I can make her a matching dress with the leftover!
Someone is having fun in brother's room!
Koa is putting a show on for Malia...starts with a roll call of all of his Disney characters.
He calls himself "Crystal Mickey" when he has this hat on.
Malia drinking her milk...silly girl!
Bike riding lesson in the house in pajamas!
So proud of himself! :)
Flexible little guy!
Casserole carrier for mom. Happy Mother's Day!
Joey getting ready for the competition!
Modeling her new swimsuit!
Maia and Grandpa
Snoozin' pals!
Celebrating Oliva's birthday!
Patiently waiting...
I think the boys are ready for cake!
One year check up!
What? You didn't want that unrolled?
Watching the electric company replace a transformer...no power while they work!
Free Kindermusik at the library! Yay!
Shake those eggs, Malia!
Brother's turn!
Checking out which rides he is tall enough to ride at Busch Gardens.
First time on a roller coaster...Air Grover...with Daddy!
Our set up in Ft Lauderdale for the competition! We had it good!
Joey took 2nd place in the RX division to a guy who placed 14th in the open games!
Matt took 1st place in the mater's division (he won all 3 WODS-amazing stuff)!
Awesome prize bags!
So nice to have Coach Ricky there with a couple of his family members cheering (and coaching) the guys!
Joey in his Rigor Gear shirt...after the competition, they picked him up as an athlete. That means free workout gear and competition entry fees and hotel rooms are paid for. Yippee! Way to go, Joey!
The kids did a great job on the road and at the competition.
Park time!
Woo hoo!
On our way home from family night for Joey's class, there was a rainbow. Koa thought it was so cool because it followed us home. He told me that Malia made a mess with her food (she is still in a rear facing carseat). It didn't make a lot of sense until we got home and I saw that she had thrown up all over herself! Poor baby girl! She never cried or complained about it. Sure was a quick change of pace when I realized what had happened...rainbows to puke! (First time either one of my babies have thrown up.)
Reading books with Koa and the dogs.
Playing with baking powder and frozen vinegar hearts (with food coloring)...not nearly as exciting as we thought it was going to be.
Koa got a bug gun (vacuum) and watch.
It came with a bug mat (guide).
Daddy helping Koa suck up a bug in the garden.
Some kind of crazy horned spider--it spun a web right in the bug watch. So cool! (We tape that thing closed so it doesn't "accidentally" come open in the house)!!!
More Busch Gardens with Jenn, Layla, and Olivia.
Once she starts taking steps on her own, she can ride rides, too!
A little treat before we leave the park!
Making butterflies with his busy bag.
She yelled at me until I gave her the whole waffle.
I got to watch Hope and she showed up wearing an outfit that Malia has--so they were twins for the day!
He cracks me up pretty much daily!
We went to Orlando for the day to cheer on some friends at a crossfit competition and were lucky enough to spend the evening with Ando's mom! It was so good to see her!
Super Seminole Dog!
Nice look, Naia!
And THAT was our busy June! So much fun! Looking forward to more crossfit competitions!
