July 2014

So, we may have missed a few months...let me catch you up (hopefully I can add the pictures later). We enjoyed Christmas in Ohio with my family, although I think Joey was the only one who was not sick out of our family of four. Florida State won the National Championship (and Joey and I were happy to stay awake to the end of that game-definitely an accomplishment these days). We started one of the biggest ventures of our lives-the process of opening a CrossFit gym with our friend, Hope. We also started another major chapter of our lives-baby number 3-due the end of September. The gym opened March 1, Joey and I turned another year older around the same time and the kids' birthdays soon followed. Koa enjoyed a trip to Disney with my family in character as Gaston with his little side kick, Belle (pictures WILL be posted for that one, for sure) and Malia enjoyed a low key second birthday with her best buddy, Olivia who is two days older than she is. And we were able to spend some time with Grandpa K as well! That brings us to July.....

Malia's new bed with big girl sheets and quilt...under brother's bed. They are doing great sharing a room. In fact, most nights, Malia crawls up into Koa's bed to sleep with him. :)

Malia started falling asleep as she was rocking her baby.

So Daddy took advantage and grabbed a chest nap (he is recovering from his knee surgery...cleaned up a torn meniscus).

Daddy got a chest nap with Malia and I got to make a 4th of July special treat with Koa!

Finished product!

Fourth of July with the Taylors...we are going to miss these guys!

We enjoyed our second annual fireworks watching with the Taylors from the Costco parking lot!
We love Motion Commotion at the library...Koa and Malia sing the songs and dance around.

Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes....

Walking with a bean bag on her head.

This girl loves taking her diaper off...I never know when I am going to walk around the corner and have a naked Malia! Looking forward to potty training, for sure! :)

Malia giving "newbaby" a checkup.

We have been enjoying the YMCA pool this summer!

Koa is becoming quite the fish (and I got to test out my new water proof phone).

Reading books together.
I love that Malia tells the mouse night night at the end of the story and then Koa reads her a story. At the end you hear Malia say, "I try" and Koa totally knew what she was saying. :)
Another tired girl picture!

Playing a game on the Ipad. I love how Koa lets her help him.
We spent a very hot weekend cheering on athletes from our gym...the kids did great!

Painting...maybe a decoration for newbaby's room...

Blue bunny ears and the santa Mr Potato head, why not? Silly girl!

You never know when Gaston might make an appearance!

Tired kiddos...and Daddy!

Malia has been coming into our room to sleep...this time she totally snuck in and brought her pillow!

And slept at the bottom of the bed. She has now decided Koa's bed has more room and sleeps with him!

Icing her knee like daddy.

More YMCA pool time.

We took a last minute trip to the beach. Drove out Friday evening and grabbed some chicken tenders to eat on the beach and a hotel room so we could enjoy a nice evening/early beach day on Saturday. The kids loved playing at the water's edge as the sun went down and we ate dinner. Then, we got out the flash lights, a net and bucket and caught tiny crabs running around in the sand. Joey and I spotted them with the flashlight, Koa would put the net over them and then Joey would scoop them up and place them in the bucket. Malia loved running around with her flashlight and watching the crabs in the bucket. We caught six!

In the hotel room...

Our 6 crabs.

The next morning...enjoying some beach time.

Malia scooped up some sand at the water's edge and we noticed she managed to capture the little shells that dig down into the sand as the water washes away and sand fleas! What a nature filled beach trip!

I wish you could hear Malia belly laughing as the waves are crashing into Koa and he's throwing himself around!

Every good beach day includes a beach nap...

for everyone!
We love Motion Commotion at the library! Tons of videos, but these kiddos have really gotten into their singing and dancing (and you can hear me singing along as well--oops)!

Surprise baby shower from CrossFit Rikr! I don't think I have ever been that surprised in my entire life--and I was speechless for quite some time as I was trying to take it all in! What a lovely afternoon and a great time with some great friends!

So confused/surprised... :)

Diaper Barbell :)

Some of the best cupcakes I have ever had! Thanks to Linda's sister, Angie at "The Sweet Life."

All the ladies with their balloon bellies after the workout! What a great time!

Malia trying to solve her problem!

I came around the corner and found the kids in the kitchen with their Bibles. Koa says, "I see God!" Then, I continues to "read" Malia a Bible story.

The awesome MamaRoo we got from our baby shower...she is going to LOVE it!

Once again, Malia is up in Koa's bed.

Morning cereal...Koa has become quite the helper. He gets himself and Malia cereal with milk without any help. They usually enjoy a bowl together before I make them their actual breakfast!
They were put to bed long before this video was taken. I heard some suspicious noises from their room and found Koa reading Malia a book in his bed. :)

The Disney princesses and princes are having a dinner party.

Fun day with Daddy at the YMCA.

Stretching...

This video cracks me up. He looks like he's doing an actual free style stroke until the end when you see he is in 9 INCHES of water!
But, he is actually swimming this summer! Yay! He calls is "scuba diving."
